Community Health Resource Center (CHRC) is a non-profit 501(C)(3) organization approved by
the IRS, effective March, 1999.
Mission:
The mission of Community Health Resource Center, is to provide the essential services for the stimulation of socio-economic, health and educational growth of individuals and families of greater Houston, TX surrounding communities.
A vibrant community of families being positively enriched by impactful services provided by CHRC. Resulting in our residents having greater access to the necessary resources to improve their life skills and health outcomes.
Objectives:
CHRC HISTORY
The nonprofit’s inception was greatly influenced by this organization’s president and her early life in rural Louisiana and additionally affected by lower-income urban areas of the inner-city, while working as a community nurse. While serving in the heart of these communities, allowed first-hand observation, of the multiple needs and despair that affect our target client population. Noticeable disparities were identified by her and the need to develop programs and resources became an ambitious desire. CHRC came to fruition as a solution to this socio-economic crisis.
CHRC recognized that this crisis impacted low-income communities in both urban and rural areas. We serve both communities in and around the Houston TX area and additionally the community of Greensburg, LA, St. Helena and the Florida parishes. Our larger scale and the multi-state mission launched with great promise and hope for its citizens.
